Virginia Longrifle Exhibition
April 21 - October 20, 2012
The Kentucky Rifle Foundation is proud to sponsor a dynamic and historic exhibit of Virginia made Longrifles that represent the work and craftsmanship of the numerous gunsmiths who plied their trade in the historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Many of these fine rifles have never been seen by the general public before in this venue, and present a rare opportunity for the historian, student and the average citizen to view these historic treasures first hand. This grouping of Virginia Longrifles was selected by the Kentucky Rifle Foundation to represent the artistic capabilities and skills of the varied gunsmiths who worked throughout the Shenandoah Valley area during the Golden Age of the American Longrifle.
This exhibit is hosted by the Luray Valley Museum in Luray, Virginia, which is located on a 7 acre complex nestled on the grounds of the historic Luray Caverns.

Tour of Page County Stage Race
June 30 - July 1, 2012
Page Valley Cycling’s race calendar will begin with a bang on the June 30-July 1 weekend, expanding the Tour of Page County into a full-fledged stage race. A stage race is a multi-event competition in which athletes compete for the best overall combined time. The most famous stage race is the Tour de France, which consists of nearly a month of individual races, or stages. The Tour of Page County will consist of three events – a road race, a time trial, and a criterium race – and is the only stage race on the Virginia racing calendar in 2012. The road race (dubbed the “Hooray for Luray Bicentennial Road Race”) and the time trial will be on newly-designed courses near Luray, and are still in the planning stages. The crowning event of the weekend will be the Luray Criterium on the same downtown course as previous years, moving that event from its previous early August slot.
Page Valley Cycling promotes bicycling in Page County as a means of transportation, fitness, recreation, and racing.
