What type of discounts are available?
There are a number of discounts available. The ticket office has complete information, but some of the most popular include*:
Giant or Martin's BonusCard – one 50% reduction off a second regular adult ticket (Limit of 6 adults per BonusCard - 3 at Full Price, 3 at 50% off)
Participating companies and military bases (through their Human Relations Department) – $5.00 off adult tickets
* Each of the above is not applicable with any any other discount. Discounts are only valid when purchasing tickets on-site at Luray Caverns main ticket counter.

How long is the tour of Luray Caverns?
The guided walking tour of the caverns takes a little over one hour. The paved walkways on the tour are 1.25 miles in length.

Do you need reservations for Luray Caverns tours?
You do not need reservations to tour the caverns. Most guests purchase their tickets upon arrival and then join the next caverns tour. We never sell out and you can always join a tour during operating hours. Tours leave about every twenty minutes throughout the day.

Does the outside weather affect tours of the caverns?
The outside weather does not affect tours of the caverns. The caverns is open everyday of the year - rain or shine.

What is the temperature inside the caverns?
The caverns is a constant 54 degrees with very high humidity that makes it feel more like 65 degrees. Some people do prefer a light jacket while touring the caverns. We also recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes.

When do Luray Caverns tours depart?
Tours depart approximately every 20 minutes throughout the day. Each tour is about an hour in length. The Car and Carriage Caravan and Luray Valley Museum, included in the general admission fee, offer a self-guided tour that each take about 30-45 minutes.

Is Luray Caverns wheelchair accessible?
Luray Caverns is not listed as handicapped accessible. There are three sections of steps, totaling about 70 steps, to go down into and out of Luray Caverns. The paved walkways on the tour are 1.25 miles in length with some areas having moderate grades that may be difficult for visitors with disabilities.

Can we bring our pets?
Pets on a leash are allowed on the Luray Caverns grounds. Guests are permitted to carry small pets on the tour. All pets on the tour must be carried for the entire length of the tour. The tour takes about one hour. Unfortunately, we do not have a kennel on-site for larger pets.

Can we use a stroller?
You can use strollers. The paved walkways on the tour include some steep grades, but these are not usually too steep for strollers. There are three sections of steps at the entrance where the stroller must be carried, so we recommend bringing a small stroller.

Are reservations for groups required?
Groups of 20 or more receive discounted admission. Reservations are not needed, but large groups should contact our Reservation Office 14 days before their planned arrival to assure the best possible service, including a preassigned entry.

Are photos allowed on the tour?
Visitors are encouraged to take photos in Luray Caverns as long as you stay with your guide. Please no pictures while on the steps entering into the caverns.

Will we hear the Stalacpipe Organ?
The Stalacpipe Organ is played live during each tour by an automated system. Manual performances from the console are only given on special occasions.
