As autumn paints the Shenandoah Valley in shades of gold, crimson, and amber, one of Page County’s beloved traditions returns. The Page County Heritage Festival takes place October 10–11, 2026, at the Page Valley Fairgrounds, offering visitors a chance to experience the sights, sounds, flavors, and traditions that have shaped the community for generations.

A Shenandoah Valley Tradition

First held in 1970, the festival is one of Virginia’s oldest arts and crafts events. For more than five decades, it has celebrated the heritage of Page County while showcasing talented artisans, craftspeople, musicians, and demonstrators from throughout the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.

Craft Demonstrations, Vendors, & Family Fun

Visitors can stroll among dozens of food and craft vendors, enjoy live entertainment, and watch traditional demonstrations that bring the region’s agricultural past to life.

Skilled artisans will demonstrate:

  • Spinning
  • Basket weaving
  • Blacksmithing
  • Pottery
  • Oil painting
  • Crocheting

Historical farm demonstrations—including log sawing, wheat threshing, corn husking, and hay baling—will offer visitors a glimpse into daily life in the Valley’s early years.

Food is always a festival highlight, with sweet and savory favorites available throughout the grounds. Enjoy homemade donuts, pulled pork, and more.

Families will find plenty to enjoy including:

  • A petting zoo
  • Hay maze
  • Face painting
  • Pony and hayrides
  • Pedal tractor pull
  • Barrel train

Antique enthusiasts can also explore a display of operating steam and gas engines, vintage tractors, and classic automobiles.

Preserving History in Virginia’s Page County

Explore several historic properties maintained by the Page County Heritage Association, including the Calendine Museum, Hamburg Country Store, Mauck Meeting House, and the restored Massanutten One-Room School. These treasured landmarks help preserve the stories and traditions that make Page County special.

Organized by the all-volunteer Page County Heritage Association, the festival supports the organization’s ongoing mission to preserve and share the history of Page Valley for future generations.
