Welcome to Coal Ridge Brewery, a family-owned farm brewery in the heart of Stanley, VA. From seed to sip, these small-batch beers marry time-honored traditions with cutting-edge technology for a finish as crisp as the Blue Ridge air.
Are you looking for a laid-back afternoon with friends, a round of live music, or simply a cold beer after exploring the Shenandoah Valley? There’s plenty of space to gather here—indoors and out!
A Barn With a Past
Back in the 1970s, the barn was home to a different crowd. Horses like Lite the Fuse Gladis, Celtic Note, Palatine, and the barn’s namesake, Coal Ridge, all trained there before making their mark on the track at Charles Town thanks to trainer Nelson Housden.
Today, that spirit of grit, speed, and strength carry through to a new sport: racing to perfect every batch of beer.
From History to Hoppiness
When Coal Ridge Brewery opened, Nelson’s story—and his horses—became a part of what makes the place special: pushing boundaries, striving for excellence, and pouring heart into every brew. The rotating tap list features everything from crisp lagers and hop-forward IPAs to fruity sours and seasonal specialties—plus local cider and creative flavor infusions.
Bites & Snacks
Pair your pint with hot dogs, BBQ sliders, pretzels, fried pickles, nachos, or a selection of Pop Daddy snacks—perfect for a casual afternoon or evening with friends.
