Shenandoah River Outfitters (SRO), just north of Luray, has provided fantastic family fun on the storied Shenandoah since 1970.
Visitors can enjoy the brisk waters of the Shenandoah River while floating past farmlands made famous in legend and song or while sunning, fishing, or sitting on the riverbanks dreaming of a time long gone.
There are sections of the river for all skill levels of adventure. The river is perfect for beginners, with easy ripples, flat water, and short rapids. SRO has grown to the largest and most experienced canoe, kayak, and tube outfitter in the Mid-Atlantic region. The closest outfitter to the town of Luray, their South Fork location is on the most scenic area of the Shenandoah River. This region borders George Washington National Forest and is the nearest river facility to Luray Caverns and the main visitor areas along Skyline in Shenandoah National Park.
