Before You Go

You don’t need a reservation to tour the caverns. Many guests purchase tickets upon arrival. We never sell out, and you can always join a tour during operating hours.

There’s a free lot and plenty of open spaces near the entrance. See where here, and follow signs from the driveway.

Bring them. You’re welcome to take photos. Remember to tag us @luraycaverns and enter our annual photo contest.

Wheelchair Access

Luray Caverns is not currently wheelchair accessible. Three sections of steps and some paved walkways with moderate grades may be difficult for visitors with disabilities.

Food and Drink

It is not permitted to bring food and drink into the Caverns. We have snack and dining options available in our Welcome Center. It is ok to bring a picnic on the grounds.

Leashed pets are allowed on the Luray Caverns grounds outside. Guests are permitted to carry small pets on the tour.

Paved walkways are not usually too steep for strollers. Three sections of steps at the entrance require that the stroller be carried, so we recommend bringing a small stroller.

Outside weather does not affect tours of the cavern. We’re open every day of the year, rain or shine.

Groups of 20 or more receive discounts. We ask that large groups contact our Reservation Office, 540•743•6551, a couple weeks before their planned arrival.

Stalacpipe Organ

The Stalacpipe Organ is played live during each tour by an automated system. Manual performances from the console are only given on special occasions.
